Moodle 2 Training for Busy Teachers

Moodle training is a little different from some of our other training, because it's often a whole staff undertaking, and often staff need some ongoing training and support in implementing a Learning Management System like Moodle with their classes.  For this reason, as well as external workshops where you come to us, we offer Moodle training in several different ways:

moodle trainingOnsite staff training (popular on student free days) - click here to make an enquiry.

Ongoing staff training and mentoring eg 1 day per week/fortnight/month.  Teachers can access training and support in their non-contact time, or in class - as registered teachers we can teach a 'microlesson' for you! Click here to make an enquiry.

Online learning - including how-to videos, printable step-by-step instructions, and support forums.  You can sign up for this individually or as a group or whole staff.  Click here to view the online learning, or click here to make an enquiry.

In this workshop, we will explore the current version of Moodle - 2+.  The workshop will cater for those new to Moodle as well as those who have used the previous version and would like to be introduced to the new one.  It will include:

  • Introducing the Moodle 2 interface (for teachers and students)
  • The new navigation/the importance of naming topic sections
  • Adding Resources - Files, Folders, Websites, Labels and Pages
  • The new text editor
  • The File Picker with enhanced support for file repositories such as YouTube
  • Common Interactive Activities such as Discussion Forums, Assignment Dropboxes, and Hot Potatoes (Crosswords, Drag and Drop matching activities, 'missing word' activities)
  • Tracking student completion of activities
  • Conditional/Prerequisite Activities
  • Setting up student self-enrolment with Enrolment Keys
  • Creating class groups
